Field VII – Vulnerability and Risk

Axial Idea: The body is a condition of finitude and exposure. Vulnerability is not an ethical limit, but the very basis of all responsible symbolic inscription. Risk is the other name for organized life. To think is to be exposed.

Theme I – The Body in Ruin

Vulnerability precedes consciousness: it is the condition of the body that reinscribes itself.
